365 days gone past yet again

Just a quick note on the last year that went by. I am not a big believer in celebrating these universal cliched and important days simply because its too pressurizing to live up to their expectations. After putting in all that effort, I am mostly left wondering - Was it worth it??

But that is besides the point. Time is ticking, another year has gone by and the sun is still rising!

When I look back at this year a few words flash in my mind:

"Travel"
Noida, Chennai, Indore, Nagpur, Mumbai, London, Halifax, Edinburgh, South Africa, Berlin, Singapore, Matheran, Nandi Hills! About a 10th of the year was spent at airports, aircrafts, queues. Loved the safari in South Africa. Enjoyed the walk in Edinburgh. Discovered that Indore is a shoppers paradise and my second home! Reaffirmed my faith in the fact that "Dilli! Not a place for me!". Caught up with people everywhere. Some near dear, some random, some mere acquaintances and some maybe I could have done without;-). Of course hated the traffic scene in Bangalore and added to it by driving around mostly.

"Discovery"
I guess all years, moments are really about discovering something new. A few I ran into this year are
  • I have friends/acquaintances in almost any place I visit.
  • There are a few friends I can pick up a conversation with just like yesterday no matter how long the haitus' in between.
  • No matter how much I plan, I always do my tax investments a day before the deadline.
  • No matter how much of a seasoned travel I become, I always have the most action packed travel and I always run to the airport to board my flight wishing I don't miss it.
  • I have discovered a new perfume for the year;-)
  • The Mayawatis', Umabhartis' will continue to have morchas and I shall continue to be stuck in traffic jams forever.
  • I shall keep buying books at a faster rate than I can read em!
  • I shall spend eternity in trying to find what is the ultimately satisfying job!
  • I am a foolish romantic!
"Conversations"
Those who know me, possibly think that I am a jabber mouth. But I do thrive on conversation. When I don't find anyone I tend to have them in my head.BTW hold on! I meant conversation- a two sided exchange of words.

I have had the most interesting conversations this year with a range of people. I have learnt that unexpected people can tell u the most remarkable things, strange connections can happen just like that and the blogging world has just way too many streams of data leading to information pollution;-)

Any ways folks, writing this from Heathrow airport waiting for my next connection. I hope to write more often this year around. To the all who cared to read - Happy New Year and keep visiting.
